Legally capable foreigners of 18 years of age can apply online for residence permits. The issue of people of up to 18 years of age shall be considered based on an application of their legal representative. To apply for a residence permit in Georgia, foreigners should be physically in Georgia.

 

Our team will help a foreign citizen to prepare necessary documents for the following residence permits:

  • Residence permit for investment purposes

Issued to an alien and their family members who, by the Law of Georgia On Promotion and Guarantees of Investment Activities, made an investment in Georgia of at least 300 000 USD equivalent in GEL or who holds a title to immovable property in Georgia (except for agricultural land plots) in the manner established by the legislation of Georgia with a market value exceeding 300 000 USD equivalent in GEL.

  • Short-term residence permit

issued to an alien or their spouse or child/children who own a real estate in Georgia (except for agricultural land) in the manner established by the laws of Georgia, the market price of which exceeds USD 100 000 equivalent in GEL. For issuance of short-term residence permit, the market price of real estate shall be estimated by a certified appraiser of a body accredited by the Legal Entity of Public Law Unified National Body of Accreditation – Accreditation Center.

  • Labor residence permit

issued in the manner established by the legislation of Georgia for implementation of entrepreneurial activities or employment in Georgia to an alien who will submit to the Agency a document confirming their entrepreneurial activities or employment in Georgia and also a certificate confirming that monthly income/salary obtained by them from entrepreneurial activities or employment in Georgia is not less than the five-time amount of minimum subsistence level of an average customer in Georgia and an annual turnover of their employer enterprise/an enterprise established by them (except for the educational institution or medical facilities) is not less than 50 000 GEL per each alien seeking the work residence permit. For the purposes of this article, the annual turnover of an educational institution or medical facility employing an alien or established by the alien is not less than 35 000 GEL per each alien seeking the work residence permit.

  • Tax Residence Permit

Tax residency is issued to a foreign citizen (high net worth individual) without living in Georgia for 185 days, in case the value of his/her worldwide property exceeds 3 000 000 GEL (around 1 200 000 USD) or his/her annual income has exceeded 200 000 GEL (during the last three years). Also the High Net Worth Individual should have Georgian residence permit or his/her Georgian sourced income should exceed 25 000 GEL during a single year.
